M.A. English Language Learning (PreK-12)
To help meet the nationwide need, WGU offers an affordable, accredited, online Master of Arts in English Language Learning (PreK–12).* This program prepares already-licensed teachers for success with English learners. Curriculum areas include culture, language production, theories of second language acquisition, assessment theory and practice, and a field experience. The program is nationally recognized by the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) International Association. WGU also offers an endorsement preparation program in English Language Learning (PreK–12).
WGU holds the same accreditation as many state universities. We offer low, flat-rate tuition that’s about half what students pay at other online universities. With our unparalleled online flexibility, students can complete most of their coursework whenever and wherever works best for their schedule. Students also benefit from our competency-based learning model, which lets them pass most courses as quickly as they prove mastery of the material, making it possible to accelerate their progress and potentially graduate faster. Faculty Mentors work one-on-one with WGU students, providing dedicated coaching, guidance, and support from enrollment through graduation.
*This M.A. in ELL program leads to an endorsement in ELL or ESL in states that have such endorsements. Specific grade level endorsement will vary by state.
