Master of Social Work

Format: Online

Program Description:

Utica College's online Master of Social Work (MSW) is the only program in clinical social work in the nation that draws from recovery theories, values, and skills, preparing students to promote dignity, autonomy, and mental health among diverse populations and build a more humane society in the world at large. In this fully online program, you will learn how to develop innovative solutions to complex mental health and social issues. The curriculum is built to be a rigorous, yet flexible, clinical training, allowing you to maintain a comfortable work, life, and family balance while pursuing your academic and professional goals. Graduates of the program will be prepared to sit for their states’ licensure exams.

The online MSW program has no residency requirements and can be completed 100% online in as few as 24-32 months. Our 60-credit hour program includes courses in trauma-informed practice, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic theories, and cognitive behavioral therapies. Even research and policy courses are designed to improve your skills as a mental health practitioner.

Because the curriculum was developed by faculty who are experienced educators and practitioners in professional social work and recovery services, practice courses integrate recovery theory with traditional clinical social work theories, uniquely preparing clinical social workers to promote mental health in individuals, families, and groups.

Our goal is to train social workers to be excellent clinicians, so you will graduate with a deeper appreciation of the long journey towards growth in yourself and others. Learn more about Utica College's online MSW program today.
