Program Description:

MUÆs master of education in the learning systems design and development focus area is available completely online and offers a project-focused curriculum for individuals in a multitude of environments who analyze performance problems and design instructional and performance interventions to address those problems. Students in the program will develop theory-based knowledge and competencies for designing learning systems and developing the digital media and networked-based applications called for in those designs. Students work collaboratively with faculty and other students, and produce a portfolio of work and accomplishments. Focus area competencies emphasize: needs assessment and evaluating learning systems; designing learning environments, including systems for direct instruction, constructivist learning, collaborative work and performance support; and developing learning systems applications or components of applications. All aspects of project development, analysis, design, production, assessment and evaluation are emphasized. The educational specialist degree builds on the learning systems design and development masterÆs program.
