Master of Social Work Advanced Standing Program (ASP)
Format: Online
The School of Cultural & Family Psychology's Master of Social Work (MSW) program has an online Advanced Standing Program (ASP). This will be a full-time accelerated one-year program (35 total credits with courses that are 8 weeks long) for candidates who hold a bachelor's degree in social work (BSW) degree from a CSWE accredited institution. Admission to the ASP allows students to complete their MSW degree in less time than the traditional MSW program by waiving the first-year foundation course requirements. Students applying for this option must have earned a BSW within the last five years and demonstrated readiness to perform at the level of a second-year MSW student via social work experience post-BSW. The Pacific Oaks MSW Advanced Standing Program will include Generalist specialized practice online asynchronous coursework, on-site field education (Internships) and a masters Capstone project. Field education (internship) courses will have some synchronous components determined by the students and their schedule in partnership with Faculty.
