Program Description:

The degree is uniquely concerned with understanding families and the development, evaluation, and management of program services to them in community context. The program is designed to create better online educational opportunities for family and community science professionals such as Extension agents and for spouses in military service families. The M.S. degree in Family and Community Services will prepare graduates for individual and family services professions that are similar to some positions in social work but distinct from counseling positions. The degree does not lead to licensure.

The program is offered through the Great Plains Interactive Distance Education Alliance(Great Plains IDEA).
