Master of Divinity, Pastoral Care & Chaplaincy

With the Pastoral Care & Chaplaincy track from Campbellsville University's Master of Divinity, you could seek positions including military chaplain, hospital/hospice chaplain, or chaplain for a church or religious organization. You can also expand your role as a church leader to include counseling or education. This two-year, fully online degree helps you develop the leadership skills it takes to fulfill Christ’s mission.

In foundational coursework for the Master of Divinity, you'll study biblical concepts such as the history and interpretation of the Old and New Testament, Old Testament prophets, archaeology in biblical studies and biblical hermeneutics. You'll also examine the ethics and philosophy of the Christian faith. Courses in church history will teach you the history and heritage of the Christian church.

The specialized Pastoral Care & Chaplaincy emphasis in Campbellsville's Master of Divinity gives you a comprehensive overview of chaplaincy, pastoral ministry and pastoral care. As you gain knowledge and confidence, you'll be able to practice your clinical pastoral education skills with mentorship from Campbellsville's experienced faculty. The Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy track also allows you to personalize your degree by choosing six elective courses from a wide variety of options such as Proclamation and Worship, Addictions Counseling and Cultural Competencies.
