Program Description:
Austin Peay State University’s I-O psychology program takes a scientist-practitioner approach to graduate education. Students gain a thorough understanding of the research that shapes I-O psychology. Faculty members have rich backgrounds in the practice, research and teaching of I-O psychology within diverse and multicultural/international settings. Since courses emphasize both research and practitioner-oriented issues, students will be prepared to pursue employment after graduation or enter a doctoral program in I-O psychology or another related field.
Students complete 34 credit-hours online, including an optional research paper or thesis. Foundation courses are offered in areas such as psychological assessment and research methods, while field-specific courses cover topics such as performance measurement, staffing, training and development, organizational behavior and leadership. Students will be able to choose elective courses based on their personal interests and goals.
Accreditation:
The Tennessee Board of Regents and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools have approved APSU’s Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology as an online degree program.
