Program Description:

The J.D. Program requires 140 quarter units and is completed over approximately four years. Graduates are eligible to sit for the California Bar Examination. Upon passing the First-Year Law Students’ Examination (FYLSX, also known as the “Baby Bar”), General Bar Examination and the moral character evaluation, ALU graduates become full members of the State Bar of California and are eligible to practice in California. A significant difference in ALU’s educational model as an online distance learning institution is in the three class options provided to enhance the student’s learning experience. Students may: -Attend live lectures online, participating in class discussion with professor and other students via online chat functions, -View recorded lectures online at a convenient time, or -Those students local to the Los Angeles area or passing through can attend lectures in our classrooms, centrally located in Los Angeles. Although on-campus attendance is not required, it is a popular option for local students.
