Program Description:

Our Master's and PhD programs in biostatistics train students for careers in health related research at universities, government health organizations, health research institutes, or pharmaceutical/medical/healthcare companies. The programs provide a balance of classroom instruction on statistical methods, their application and underlying theory, while offering opportunities for hands-on practical experience with applications to health related research projects under the mentorship of a biostatistics faculty member. Masters program graduates are able to serve on research teams as statistical consultants and data analysis. They have sufficient experience with popular data management software to work as data manages. Those with a strong interest in teaching have opportunities to work as university of community college instructors. PhD graduates have proven ability to do methodological research and are prepared to work as collaborating scientists, biostatistical researches or university educations. They receive several years of practical experience with data analysis/management and collaborative research by the time they graduate.
