Master of Social Work (for those without a B.S.W.)

Format: Campus

Program Description:

Accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), students in Seton Hall’s master's degree in social work prepares students to work with individuals, families or groups in a variety of advanced-practice settings — including behavioral health, substance abuse, healthcare and forensic practice.

Ranked as a Best School for Social Work by U.S. News & World Report, the program offers two tracks, for those with and without an accredited B.S.W.
•    For students without a bachelor's degree in social work, the program can be completed in two years as a full-time student or up to four years part-time. The first year consists of either on-campus or online (synchronous) coursework.
•    Students with a degree in social work go straight into the second year of the program — the Advanced Standing year — which consists of online courses and on-site fieldwork in the community.

Seton Hall also offers the only graduate forensic social work program in the state of New Jersey, as well as a concentration in behavioral health.

As a student in the program, you’ll emerge with a keen understanding of the complex factors that shape today’s social issues and the confidence to create a lasting difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities.
