Become a better teacher and a stronger leader within your classroom, school, and district. Saint Mary’s M.A. in Education program engages education professionals in rigorous and relevant learning. Students in this program examine educational theory and research with the primary focus being the development of practical applications that will enhance their current educational practices.
The program consists of 33 credits; 28 are required and 5 are elective. The core of the program consists of nine required courses and one seminar. The remaining five credits may be earned in a variety of ways:
•Elective credits taken prior to the start of the program may be transferred into the program.
•Cohorts may select from a large variety of courses designed specifically for the M.A. in Education program.
•Students may also choose from several courses in other master’s degree or certificate programs such as Educational Leadership, Counseling and Psychological Services, Human Development, the Gifted & Talented Instruction Certificate, the K–12 Reading Teacher Certificate, and/or Graduate Professional Development for Educators.
