Program Description:
Simpson University offers an academically rigorous Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology program designed to prepare you for licensure in the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist and/or a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor to positively impact individuals, couples, and families.
The program gives students a broad academic and clinical experience. Students are prepared to provide counseling-related services through a range of modalities such as individual, family, group, and couples. The program prepares students to work in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, medical, educational, community mental health, family and social service organizations, employee assistance programs, substance abuse treatment facilities, managed care/HMO, military, private practice, and church-related organizations.
The program curriculum will also appeal to individuals who may not intend to seek licensure but who want to develop effective interpersonal and relational skills that will enhance their ability to have successful careers in other areas of human services.
Our two or three year comprehensive curriculum will give you an excellent academic and clinical experience. Classes are held in a convenient evening face to face format.
Faculty are scholars and practitioners with expertise in the areas in which they teach. From award~winning researchers to specialist in areas such as infant mental health, our faculty bring practical application of theories and research into the classroom.
Students in both the two and three year program schedules are eligible to receive federal financial aid.
